Tryout Fees
- All prospective players must be registered prior to tryouts with Volleyball Alberta as a 2027 Youth Development Player-Tryout category
- Tryout Fee is $20 per player
Re-signing of Current Club Athletes & Open Commitments
Re-signing of current club-affiliated athletes is designed to secure enough players to ensure a season is viable and the vital positions are secured. Re-signed athletes are provided with a Letter of Intent (LOI) form to sign and return within 48 hours.
Fall Tryouts
Competitive Age Category (16U-18U) Fall tryout period is Aug 30 - Sept 13
Development Age Category (14U-15U) Fall tryout period is Sept 12 - Sept 20
Alberta Schools' Athletic Association (ASAA) - Fall tryouts
All Tryouts will follow Schools Sports Association regulations. Please see ASAA and VA Joint Statement (2025)
Players on the High School Sr Varsity team are only allowed to tryout on set dates (Aug 30, Sept 6, 7, 13). Student athletes are not allowed to tryout after Sept 14.
"Student-athletes who participate with non-school teams on any other dates between Aug31 -Nov 29 will be ruled ineligible for ASAA volleyball competition."
